PEAC shall conduct a one-day workshop for LIDER 4 on developing critical reading, critical thinking and critical feeling.
The course, Fighting Forward: Teachers vs. Fake News, is especially designed for teachers, to help them help their students fight disinformation and historical denialism with three connected workshops on critical reading, critical thinking, and critical feeling. Exercises conclude with lesson plan templates per module, each can be adapted for location-specific use.
Trainers are led by veteran journalist John Nery, in a partnership among PEAC and the Consortium on Democracy and Disinformation and the Asian Center for Journalism at the Ateneo de Manila University.
The workshops shall be held on the following dates in 2022:
• January 21 – Luzon A (Regions I, II, III, CAR)
• February 4 – Visayas
• February 11 – Mindanao
• February 18 – Luzon B (Regions IV-A, IV-B, V)
• March 4 – NCR
Registration fee is Php500 per participant.
