For SY 2018-2019, the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) will implement the revised Certification Assessment Instrument (CAI) for all ESC applicant schools that will undergo certification. All ESC participating schools due for recertification will use the revised instrument starting in SY 2019-2020. The Certification Program is a quality assurance mechanism for ESC participating schools to ensure compliance with the minimum standards set by the Department of Education.

The revised CAI was one of the outputs of the PEAC commissioned research conducted by Dr. Miguel Q. Rapatan, Director for Academic Support for Instructional Services and Technology of De La Salle University, and Dr. Ma. Helena Desiree Terre, Vice President for Academic Affairs of the Colegio Del Sagrado De Jesus and Colegio De San Jose. The revised CAI is aligned with the K-12 program and is evidence-based.

Last July 13-14, 2018, the PEAC conducted a two-day Orientation-Workshop for Certifiers at St. Paul University-Manila. Dr. Rapatan and Dr. Terre gave a walk-through of the revised instrument and conducted workshops.

PEAC Executive Director, Ms. Rhodora Angela F. Ferrer, gave the rationale of the Certification Program and the implementation plan for SY 2018-2019. Ms. Josephine Bernardino, Certification Officer, presented the certification process, including the responsibilities of the certifiers. Mr. Eimann Evarola, Information Technology and Information Management Officer, discussed the Data Privacy Act.

As part of its dissemination, the PEAC National Secretariat has been presenting the revised instrument during the assemblies of private educational associations in the different regions nationwide.
