PEAC and Rex Education award scholarship grants to third batch of Edukampyon Iskolars
The PEAC-REX Edukampyon Iskolar Para sa Kinabukasan program awarded the third batch of scholarship grants to 25 deserving students who have the hearts for teaching and talent in Mathematics and Science on 17 August 2024 at the REAP Center, Quezon City.
As a joint effort of the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) and Rex Education, the event was headed by Ms. Doris Fernandez Ferrer, the program Chair and the Executive Director of PEAC, and Mr. Don Timothy Buhain, the program Co-Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Rex Education, with Dr. Ester Ogena serving as the program Consultant and Head of the project management committee.
The event acknowledged the 25 scholars from Ateneo de Naga University, Capitol University, and the University of San Agustin, with representatives and scholarship coordinators from the universities also in attendance.
Following the awarding ceremony, an Orientation Program for Scholars and Parents was conducted on 17-18 August 2024. The two-day activity, also held at the REAP Center, was facilitated by Dr. Aurora B. Fulgencio and Dr. Merimee Tampus-Siena. The program provided crucial guidance to the scholars and their families regarding their roles and responsibilities under the scholarship.
Indeed, such a program is foundational to addressing the critical shortage of qualified educators in these disciplines essential to advancement and economic development of the country. By supporting aspiring teachers in Mathematics and Science, the PEAC-REX Edukampyon scholarship program contributes to strengthening the quality of private education in the country.
