Consistent with its mission of improving the quality of private education in the country through teacher capacity-building, the PEAC conducted a comprehensive, second phase of the Training of Trainers (TOT) for both Junior High School and Senior High School INSET at Lima Park Hotel, Malvar, Batangas. PEAC co-implements the INSET under the GASTPE program of the Department of Education.
Under the guidance of Dr. Miguel Rapatan, the Consultant for JHS INSET, the 182 trainers from 60 institutions were equipped with invaluable insights into timely pedagogical practices and learner-centered approach to education. The interactive workshops, collaborative discussions, and practical sessions spanned from March 1 to 4, 2024 with the overarching theme, “Teaching Students to be Future Ready in a VUCAD World with 21st Century Skills and Mastery of MATATAG Learning Competencies.”
Equally, guided by the expertise of Dr. Gina Montalan, the Consultant for SHS INSET, the 150 trainers representing 39 institutions delved into the science behind student learning, as they explored the different effective teaching methodologies aligned with the cognitive principle and educational research. The training sessions, dynamic workshops, and practical demonstrations revolved around the theme, “Teaching of SHS Core Subjects based on the Science of Students’ Learning” which unfolded from March 14 to 17, 2024.
Ms. Doris Fernandez Ferrer attended both events and gave updates to the trainers on both PEAC and EDCOM 2 initiatives.
Truly, these training programs are a statement of PEAC’s dedication to educational excellence, national development, and agility in responding to the demands of the ever-changing world.
